Nanogrid Versions

SIRA Smartgrid and Nanogrid Architecture

The architecture developed by SIRA for its smartgrid and nanogrid solutions allows for a wide range of applications, from the most advanced systems for the Armed Forces to vertical market solutions such as telecommunications systems, milk refrigeration, and commercial versions designed for critical infrastructures like small server farms, satellite antennas, hospitals, water pumps, and more.

Nanotelco

In emerging countries, it is very common for telecommunications infrastructures, such as base transceiver stations (BTS) or switches, to be powered by diesel generators due to unstable or non-existent power grids.

Nanotelco fully integrates with any BTS and existing equipment without the need to replace components.

Nanotelco minimizes electricity costs with a low investment compared to traditional hybrid systems, while providing reliability that exceeds current industry standards.

Even under severe load-shedding conditions (12 hours or more per day), Nanotelco avoids the use of diesel generators by operating with only eight 420W solar panels (for 2G and 3G networks).

Continuous network and node monitoring enables prompt detection of anomalies and energy losses, thanks to the optional Remote Monitoring and Control System (RMCS), equipped with AES 256-bit encryption.

Optimization algorithms allow Nanotelco to achieve the same performance as a traditional hybrid system using very few solar panels and batteries, as shown in the photographs comparing three different BTS 2G power supply systems.

Nanochiller – Cold Chain Refrigeration

milk chiller

In its full-solar or hybrid version, Nanochiller enables the refrigeration of cold storage facilities, milk chillers, and other applications, ensuring full compliance with international food safety standards while reducing or even eliminating the use of diesel generators where the power grid is absent.

Thanks to Nanochiller technology, the refrigeration process can now also be adopted by cooperatives of small farmers through milk collection centers, offering an opportunity to foster local development and create added value in their communities, enabling even small-scale farmers to produce, store, and sell milk in compliance with hygiene regulations.

Nanopump – Solar and Submersible Pumps

Submersible-Pump-for-Agriculture-300x200

The models developed by SIRA allow for precise estimation of the water output, taking into account the type of pump used, the depth of the water table, and climatic conditions.

Submersible pumps, when not connected to a stable power source like the electric grid or a generator, can operate directly via solar panels thanks to the integration of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology, which adjusts the flow rate based on the real-time available power.

In this setup, water production naturally varies throughout the day. To ensure continuity of water supply, it is possible to integrate a storage tank or, alternatively, electric storage systems that compensate for variations in flow.

Nanocor – Corrosion Protection Nanogrid

Gas&Oil2

Cathodic protection (CP) is an effective technique for controlling the corrosion of metal surfaces, such as underground or submerged pipelines.

Its operation is based on the application of a direct current that counteracts the corrosive current, thereby neutralizing it. When properly coated, a pipeline may require very low current densities, ranging from 0.0003 mA/m² to 1.1 mA/m². Along the pipeline, at strategic intervals typically less than 20 kilometers, the current is supplied via an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system, with anodes connected to a continuous power source.

These pipelines often extend over hundreds of kilometers through remote areas, where power supply must be ensured by autonomous systems. Although diesel generators are widely used, they entail high maintenance and operational costs.

A more efficient and sustainable solution is offered by Nanocor, capable of operating either autonomously or in combination with a generator set.

Nanopetrol – Service Station Power Solutions

PetrolStation2

Fuel stations often operate extended hours, sometimes 24/7, leading to high energy consumption.

To reduce operational costs, SIRA offers a comprehensive energy audit and consumption optimization process, enabling fuel stations to continue providing services even during load-shedding or power outages.

The dedicated version of the Nanogrid system, specifically developed for fuel stations, can manage both normal and critical loads. It can also recharge the batteries through the electric grid during periods of low solar radiation and includes features to improve energy efficiency, such as replacing traditional lighting with low-consumption technologies.
